Dougga, an ancient Mediterranean city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was once the Granary of the Roman Empire, where one can experience the grandeur of Roman architecture
Kairouan, a historical city considered one of the four holy cities of the Islami world, alongside Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. In 670 AD, after the Arabs arrived, a large mosque measuring 135 meters long And 80 meters wide was completed within a year. Over 100 columns from the Carthage ruins were Transported here, and after seven renovations, the mosque achieved its current form

Tunis – 18km – Sidi Bou Said – 24km – Bardo– 108km – Dougga – 148km – Kairouan

<Itinerary>

After breakfast, depart for ◎ Sidi Bou Said, located about 20 km northeast from Tunis. It is known as the artist’s paradise, and the most beautiful Mediterranean village in Tunisia
★Bardo Museum, located about 3 km from Tunis, it is one of the most important museums of Tunisia.
The museum is housed in an old Beylic palace since 1888 and contains the largest collection of mosaics In the world
★Dougga is located on a hillside in Northern Tunisia, surrounded by scenic landscape and overlooking a golden wheat field. It was founded in the 6th century BC. Dougga is the best-preserved Roman small town in North Africa and an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997
◎Kairouan was founded in 670, ranking the 4th holy city in Islam. It is located in the center of Tunisia.
With its rich cultural history, Kairouan has ben designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988

Day 4

Kairouan – 106km – Sbeitla – 219km – Tozeur

<Itinerary>

After breakfast, city tour will follow:
★The Great Mosque of Kairouan, also knowns as the Mosque of Uqba. It is one of the finest Islamic Mosques in North Africa. Kairouau is a holy city in Islam, ranking fourth after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. Preserving 7th century Islamic architectural features.
★Mosque Sidi Sahbi is also known as Mosque of the Barber. According to the tradition, Abu Zama’s al-Balawi (also known as Sidi Sahib), the barber and a Companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, was Buried here in 654 after dying in battle. He was buried with three hairs from Muhammad’s beard.
◎Aghlabite Pools (Aghlabid Reservoirs) are a series of historic water reservoirs in Kairouan. They Were built under Aghlabid rule in the 9th century to supply the city with water. Today, one large and One small pool remains
◎Sbeitla is a small town in west-central Tunisia. The archaeological site of Sbeitla contains the best Preserved Byzantine temples. The three temples dedicated to the three most important Roman gods (Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva).
We will overnight in Tozeur, located in the southwest of Tunisia. Tozeur is a large oasis with hundreds Of thousands of palm trees.

Tozeur – 129km – Douz – 90km – Matmata

<Itinerary>

After breakfast, travel to following sites by★ 4-wheel drive vehicle, visiting the Sahara Desert’s Mountain desert oases:
◎Mides is about 1km from Algerian border, known for its steep canyon landscapes featured in films such as “Star Wars” and “ The English Patient”
◎Tamerza located between Chebika and Mides, it is known as the “balcony overlooking the Sahara” With its stunning natural gorge and red rock formations make it a must visit destination
◎Chebika, originally meaning “water from stone”, located 59km north of Tozeur. Douz is a town in the south of Tunisia, known as the “gateway to the Sahara”
◎Matmata known for its barren mountains, endless deserts and unique troglodyte dwellings, resembling an extraterrestrial landscape. It was the filming location for “Star Wars”, “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Indiana Jones”

Matmata – 295km – El Jem –70km – Sousse

★Amphitheater of El Jem was built around 230 AD in Thysdrus. It is one of the best-preserved Roman stone ruins in the world. It was built for spectator events, and one of the largest amphitheaters in the World. It is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979
◎Medina of Sousse, located in the Tunisian Sahel. It was an important commercial and military port during the Aghlabid period. It was enlisted to the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. The Medina consists of Kasbah, ramparts, the Great Mosque, and ribat. The Ribat is a defense fort and a religious building overlooks the Mediterranean

★Kerkouane is the site of an ancient Punic city in north-eastern Tunisia, near Cape Bon peninsula. The layout of This town and how the houses were built have revealed the sophisticated notion of town planning. Kerkouane was enlisted to UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985

Hammamet – 80km – Carthage –16km – Tunis

<Itinerary>

★Carthage was an ancient city on the eastern side of the Lake of Tunis. Carthage was the most important trading and commercial city in the Mediterranean from 650 B.C to 146 B.C. According To the legend, Queen Elissa (Dido), the founder of Carthage asked for land from the local tribe, which told her that she could get as much land as an oxhide could cover. She cut the oxhide into strips and laid out the perimeters of the new city.
★Tophet is an ancient sacred area dedicated to the Phoenician deities Tanit and Baal. It contains a large number of children’s tombs, which were sacrificed or buried here after their death. The symbol of the goddess Tanit, a sacred emblem, can be seen throughout the area
◎Medina of Tunis has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. It features French and Arab architecture, reflecting daily life in the Islamic world. The Medina is one of the world’s cultural heritage sites

120 days prior to departure: US$200 per person
119 days to 60 days prior to departure: US$300 per person
59 days to 30 days prior to departure: 50% of tour fare
29 days to 15 days prior to departure: 75% of tour fare
14 days to 3 days prior to departure: 80% of tour fare
2 days or less prior to departure and/or cancelled during the touring period: 100% of tour fare

For any train tickets, ferry tickets and admission reserved, if you cancel, we will check with local suppliers for cancellation penalty
For Airline tickets that is purchased and issued, if you cancel, airfare is Non-Refundable and Non-Transferable, we will check with airline for cancellation penalty
Hotel Twin Room Cancellation Policy: If your roommate cancelled, the share with party will occupy a single room, the cancelled party is responsible for single supplement incurred
